Final Score: Kings double their road wins, beat Cavs 97 to 94

USA TODAY Sports

Sacramento used its advantage inside to edge a shorthanded Cavaliers team for their second road win. DeMarcus Cousins had another good game with 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists and the Kings outscored the Cavs in the paint 52 to 36.

After a disappointing loss yesterday in Detroit, Sacramento redeemed themselves tonight with a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 97 to 94. It was just their second road win of the season.

Sacramento's frontcourt was phenomenal all night. DeMarcus Cousins had yet another great all-around game with 18 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block. Jason Thompson had a 19 point, 10 rebound, and 3 block effort to his name. But the real underrated player of the night was Francisco Garcia. Garcia scored 14 points and had a couple of really key blocks and steals down the stretch.

Kyrie Irving recovered from a rough start to lead the Cavs with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Irving's 60 foot heave at the buzzer to potentially tie the game just missed off of the front rim, but it would not have counted even if it had gone in. Rookie Dion Waiters scored 20 points off of Cleveland's bench but needed 19 shots to do so. Alonzo Gee had 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for Cleveland.

With no Anderson Varejao, Sacramento's bigs feasted inside, and the Kings outscored the Cavs in the paint 52 to 36. Neither team was able to get anything going from outside, with Sacramento just 3-16 (18.8%) from three and Cleveland not much better at 5-21 (23.8%).

Sacramento shot just 43.2% from the field but held Cleveland to 39.1%. Sacramento had 22 assists to just 10 turnovers, showcasing good ball movement yet again.

Sacramento now looks to go above .500 on this road trip on Friday when they face the surging Toronto Raptors. Toronto has won 8 of 9 games and haven't lost at home since December 12th. They will not be an easy opponent to beat.

Full recap will be up later. For now, everybody dance!
