Despite popular sentiment that money rules politics, calls and letters from ordinary citizens have influenced legislation in the highest levels of state and federal government. I know this is true because of what I do for a living. (I can't really say more about that.) Therefore, I believe that if each member of the NBA Board of Governors heard our pleas of justice for fans of the Sacramento Kings, it could make a difference when it comes time for them to weigh Mayor Johnson's appeal and a competing offer versus approving the sale of the Kings to the Hansen/Ballmer group.
Surely, it must be possible to contact a BoG member, or his staff, right? Let's group-sleuth it out! If anyone knows phone numbers, email addresses, and/or postal addresses of any members, let's share it here.
If you do manage to get a member or his staff to bend an ear to you, please don't launch into a tirade. Be brief and courteous on the phone or voicemail.
Effective letters will be well-worded and factually persuasive. Be polite in your writing even if you think that BoG member is a complete tool a mere molecule more redeemable than a Maloof. Don't personally threaten to boycott the NBA via ultimatum. Show appreciation for the consideration your correspondence will receive, and don't assume that it will be ignored.
Whaddaya thinks, fellow Kings fans?
