Mayor Kevin Johnson is holding a press conference at 2 p.m. at Sacramento City Hall. Reportedly on the docket: an announcement of local investors in a potential purchase of the Sacramento Kings.
Kevin Johnson will announce a set of local buyers for the Sacramento Kings at a 2 p.m. press conference at City Hall, according to the word on the street (aka the super connected Aaron Bruski). This won't likely include the so-called "whales" but local folks who will be involved in the potential purchase of the team. (The news on the "whales" will come soon.) The official reason for the press conference is that it is an "update on the Play To Win strategy."
We're encouraging anyone who can make it to City Hall at 1:30 p.m. to PLEASE do so. Bring a Kings jersey, t-shirt, hat, banner, sign to work, hustle on over at 1:30, and be ready for the cameras at 2. Be loud, be proud. As we all know, showing the world Sacramento is invested in this team is hugely important. It worked in 2011. It can work now. Please spread the word, get your purple on and get out there.
City Hall is at 915 I Street.
