The Sacramento Kings will not be represented in the 2013 Rising Stars Challenge, or the Rookie/Sophomore game as it is more commonly known. Isaiah Thomas, Jimmer Fredette and Thomas Robinson were all eligible for inclusion. The Kings final chance at being represented at All-Star weekend now lies with Jimmer Fredette being selected to the Three Point Shootout.
Isaiah Thomas appears to be the biggest snub of the group, as he would have been a stronger selection than Brandon Knight. Isaiah's chances were undoubtedly impacted by Keith Smart's early season infatuation with Aaron Brooks, resulting in Isaiah being demoted from the starting role for quite some time. Jimmer has also seen limited minutes this season, despite being very productive during his time on the floor, and the limited minutes likely hurt his chances as well/
Thomas Robinson has been playing very well lately, but had a rough time transitioning to the NBA at the start of the year. His improvement seems to have been too little, too late. However, if he can continue the quality of play we've seen recently, he could easily make a case to be included next season.
