9 games into the season, the Kings are already 2-7. And you know what.... I expected this. I understand that the Kings wouldn't magically get better under a new management team. However, game after game nothing exactly " changes".
Now, before you all exit out of this post because I am going to talk about Jimmer, hear me out. I am not one of those fans who all they care about is Jimmer. I am a Kings fan in general. To be honest, I didn't even want the Kings to get Jimmer in the first place. But it is hard, game after game, watching Jimmer siting on the bench. I think most of us can agree that Jimmer hasn't been given a great opportunity. Even not picking up his next year of his contract made sense. But the fact that the Kings aren't shooting well makes it worse.
Marcus Thornton throughout his years on the Kings has been an offensive spark plug whenever he came in. However, this year has been a bit different. Thronton is shooting 36.6% from the field according to ESPN.com. That number is not good or bad. However, when I see that he is shooting 30.2% from the 3-point line, that caught my attention. Isn't that what he is known for? Game after game early this season, Thornton was as cold as could be. Then,LOOK, Thornton scores 24 against Brooklyn. Everyone thought, Thornton was back. But 3 games later, Thornton is back to his old ways.
This question immediately comes to mind. Why is Thornton getting so may chances? The Kings are 2-7 and more likely than not, not going to make the playoffs. I understand Jimmer's contract hasn't been renewed but for God Sakes don't let him sit and rot on the bench. Coach Malone has tried every combination possible without attempting to put Jimmer in. Just try it, who knows. It couldn't hurt.
