"We are excited to get this event off the ground, and can't think of a better player to make it happen than Ben McLemore." , Commissioner David Stern said in an interview, "I can't wait to see what kind of creative dunks he barely misses this year."
"It really is an exciting moment for me," McLemore said, "After every game it seems a fan will walk up to me on the street and tell me how that dunk I almost made would have been AWESOME! Just last night I almost dunked on four of the Lakers, and boy would they have been embarrassed if I had made it."
When asked if he had any ideas on what dunks he would try to clank he smiled.
"I've got a few pretty far out there ideas. One of them is to jump over Shaq and just overshoot the jump a little bit so the ball jumps off the back of the rim and into the crowd. Really there are so many ways to miss a dunk, and all I have to do is think of four of them. I'm ready for the challenge."
While no other participants have been announced, judges for the competition are rumored to be funny man Vince Vaughn, NBA legend Duane Causewell, and that 2 year old that can hit trick shots.
