Jason Thompson is a player who grabs his lunch pail, puts on his hard hat and comes to work every day. Effort is never questioned, he is a team player, and he is a positive member of the Sacramento community both on and off the court. So why has he been so bad this year? He is currently putting up career lows in fg%, rebs, asts, stls, blks, and ppg. That is alarming. At first glace you can attribute that to his inconsistent playing time, but then you look at his per 40 minute averages and he is still putting up career lows in everything besides assists. His PER is even down 3 whole points. This is the first year that Jason Thompson has really heard his name in trade rumors, and Patrick Patterson was pretty much given the starting spot at the beginning of the year. I personally think it is affecting him greatly. Everyone is Sacramento is behind Ben McLemore. How Ben moves without the ball, oozes athleticism, and is unselfish. We are behind Isaiah Thomas because well, he's the Pizza Guy who is one of the best finishers in the NBA around the rim. We are behind Rudy Gay because he is the most physically gifted King since Chris Webber, and we are behind Demarcus Cousins because the franchise depends on it. It's time we got behind JT again. He needs it.
