Finally, since 1998 when Chris Webber joined the kings, a big name player has joined them once again. Now at this point I have no idea whether, Rudy Gay will work out with the kings or not. Regardless, the point is that the new management has shown that they want big star players to be in Sacramento and they want to be good NOW. The years of the maloofs buying washed up players is finally gone. Now just months into the new regime we have acquired Gay and Williams, while giving up essentially nothing. I would not be surprised at all if before the trade deadline, we also trade JT, Jimmer and MT.
This new featured line up has got to be one of the most athletic line up's in the league. The oldest starting player will be 27 which is Rudy Gay. When Carl Landry comes back it will be very helpful to have a veteran in the rotation, since we are solely compromised of young guns. It would be nice if the management could now bring in a veteran point guard or power forward/center to come off the bench. All of a sudden our biggest weakness at small forward has turned into our strength. It's going to be intersting how the starting line up will be able to play and create shots for each other. As long as this lineup can share the ball, they will be dangerous. IT spreading the ball and driving, DMAC drawing the double team and kicking it out to any one of the other guys who can drain it from the outside. Even with the addition of Gay we must run the offense through DMAC. Gay needs to come in and understand that, DMAC is the core of this team and that if he follows this he will succeed as well.
Oh boy am I excited to see the Kings game tomorrow night, hopefully Gay will be dressed and ready to go!
