#HereWeBuy night was a success, and the response from several of those in the media got me thinking about how we can continue to effect the narrative of the Sacramento Kings. If you've watched Small Market, Big Heart, then you'll know that while wealthy investors, corporate sponsors, and city officials are the ones who have the power to get things done, fans have the power to change the national media's narrative about Sacramento and its ongoing fight to keep the Kings in town. I, for one, have been going to as many games as my budget can afford this year. While keeping attendance up is a major concern for me, I'd like to present an additional course of action...
I'm sure everyone has heard of letter writing campaigns, but what about a tweeting campaign? I propose to all the King's faithful that we organize, mobilize, and make our voices heard as one on Twitter. My plan to do this is as follows:
A media target will be selected. The target can be anyone that has a national voice in the NBA world, such as radio or TV show hosts, bloggers, podcast...ers, or columnists. A date and time will be chosen and on said date and time, as many loyal fans as possible will Tweet one simple, unified message. Nothing negative, no pleading, just a symbol that we are here, we love our team, and we will never give up on them.
So what do you say? Will you step up and help us shape the narrative?
Please make suggestions on possible targets and messages below. Here is my suggestion
