Maloof Magic

Like a magician the Maloof family has always relied on their disappearing act. They have disappeared since they clandestinely sold the Kings to Seatlle without even offering the city which supported their team for all these years to match the offer. Now the Maloof brothers are hoping the NBA will side with them and affirm the sale of the Kings to the city in Washington State.

The baffling thing about all this is why these three brothers would intentionally turn on thousands of fans who financially patronized their team ("our" team) and stood by the Kings through all these tough years of trying to build a contender.

Are they sociopathic? Have they no conscience? We know that they don't have the financial resources to own and operate a major sports franchise. Maybe now they finally realize that owning a professional sports team is not for everyone.

If these men truly want to leave town with their heads held high, it is never too late to say "mea culpa" and admit their transgressions and ask for forgiveness.

Failure to demonstrate sincere contrition will result in a lasting dark stain on their reputation that will never disappear.
