Perhaps a first step should be to sign KJ to a one day player contract. Let him be on the floor for the tip off as a symbol of all the hard work done by many, many Kings and Sacramento fans.
He will most likely decline, he was an All Star after all, and probably has no real pell-mell rush to tarnish that image. Option 2 could be a one day contract to coach the opening game under the new ownership alongside the actual coach from the bench. It would be a fitting symbol for the franchise, the city, its unpararalled fans and the NBA who all had the courage to do the right thing.
