Fair warning before you read this: I'm not here with some news you haven't heard before or my own personal analysis of the more recent events. I'd just like to share where my passion for the game and this team comes from. Now, to the post. Ever since I can remember my family has been a kings family. Even when my mom was pregnant with me they were attending games and at the age of two I got to see my first through my own eyes. We used to split season tickets back on the days when the Kings were relevant to many outside of Sacramento and I have a lot of great... And horrible memories. Game 7 still haunts me, as I know it haunts you all. Anyway, in 2004 my father, a die hard kings fan, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 42. As I'm sure you can imagine, it was very devastating as I was extremely close with my father and found it difficult to comprehend what was happening to him. Two years later, he was declared terminal and was given a month, maybe two at best. In that moment we turned to the kings organization, who we had supported for years, and asked if there was a way my father could go to one more game in his wheelchair. They pulled all the strings and got us court side seats to watch the game. It was a Wednesday. We fortunately won that game, and got a lot of great gear, as well as the opportunity to go into the locker room after the game, and got to meet both grant and Jerry! Unfortunately though, that would be my dads final game, as he passed away three days later. I shared this story for two reasons, the first being that I've carried his legacy on as a proud kings fan, and would feel like a link to my father would be lost if this team moves away. Secondly, the people in this organization whose jobs on our the line are amazing people, and they absolutely don't deserve to lose their job because of the maloofs. There isn't anyone in seattle with a job on the line from this decision, but there's hundreds on the line here. I owe them so much for what they did, and I don't want to see them jobless.
(If there is any spelling errors, blame the stupid auto-correct on my Iphone)
