The horrible saga of relocation attempts and spending at the salary cap floor over the last 7 years has finally ended with George Magoof selling the team to Vivek Ranadive. Let this be the last time we ever mention it for all of eternity.
Now then, what are the first things the new ownership group needs to do to prep for next season?
1. Hire a new GM. This is probably the most important thing that must be done. Petrie has had a long career as the Kings GM but I think it's time to start fresh. Who would be the best fit with us? Phil Jackson is clearly the best choice because he wants to get back at the Lakers, but there's about a .0000001% chance he comes to Sacramento. I can't think of too many GM's off the top of my head, but I'll leave that to you guys in the comments.
2. Hire a new head coach. Keith Dumb has got to go. I liked him to start with but I never see players go over 30 minutes a game in his system. There's a reason why his career win percentage is below 33%. That being said, who could we hire? Stan Van Gundy is the first option that comes to my mind. He's NEVER had a losing season as a head coach. Dwight Howard practically got him fired. Stan is a veteran coach in this league who can coach well, but does he have what it takes to deal with Cousins? Who are some coaches that come to mind for you guys?
3. Prep for draft?
4. Resign/amnesty players?
5. Free agency?
What do you guys see we need to do? I couldn't decide an order for the last three so I'll leave it up to the comments.
