Here We Sign! FTM 2.0 - Forgive The Maloofs!

4/29 will most likely remain a memorable date all of us that once lived, currently live or maintain an allegiance to Sacramento and our beloved Kings. Optimistically speaking it could be the day a $1B redevelopment plan to revitalize a dormant downtown area and build a state of the art entertainment facility that will host the NBA Kings for the next three decades became real. On the downside it could be a day we all shrug our shoulders and say if only...

The one thing that seemingly stands in the way of our collective sigh of relief, general happiness and rightful focus on basketball related topics is the uncertainty of what The Maloofs are going to do. The negativity we all share for the state of the franchise, the lack of progress on a viable arena--prior to Kevin Johnson's involvement--fairly rests with The Maloof Family. More than anything else we need The Maloof Family to back out of its existing agreement with the Hansen Ballmer Group and sign with the Ranadivé led Group.

While all believe that the NBA Owners will rubber stamp the recommendation given by the committee today, it still requires the current ownership to follow suit. So many have gone beyond the call of duty but we have not won anything yet! Everyone needs to keep the momentum and focus and direct their energy now towards getting the Maloofs to do the right thing. Regardless of past sentiment we need this to happen and happen quickly as we are at a huge disadvantage going into next season the longer this transaction takes to complete.

I strongly encourage everyone to send tweets, emails, letters or any sort of communication to the Maloofs, thanking them for their stewardship and requesting that they quickly move forward with this sale so our team, our town, their family and all the fans can move on.

Please rise above the sophomoric rants and Maloof bad mouthing and do everything you can to help get this deal done by putting forward public messaging that encourages The Maloof Family doing the right thing: Keeping the Kings in Sacramento.

Thanks again to all at STR that have given us a forum to commiserate and cultivate hope. I have never been prouder to be a Sacramento Kings Fan!
