The Nuggets have granted the Kings permission to interview assistant general manager Pete D'Alessandro, USA Today's Sam Amick reported on Sunday. Amick said that the Nuggets had deliberated on the request for "days" before allowing it. Denver lost its GM Masai Ujiri to the Raptors last week, and D'Alessandro is considered a top option to take over. But apparently he'd like to explore the Kings situation.
Amick has reported this piece of news related to Pete D.
Another wrinkle to the D'Alessandro candidacy in Sacramento: strong chance Brooklyn assistant GM Bobby Marks would join him if he got job.— Sam Amick (@sam_amick) June 9, 2013
Marks is considered to be the Nets' cap wizard. (He got a full plate last offseason, no?) He's a Nets lifer, having spent 18 seasons in various roles in the front office.
The D'Alessandro rumors are running parallel to the Kenny Smith rumors. Amick reported in his scoop on The Jet that Vivek Ranadivé is looking to install a two-tier front office with a "name" at the top to set the tone and a well-respected, experienced GM to manage the day-to-day operations.
