Note: This is my first fanpost after visiting the site for almost five years. Take from that what you will.
Double Note: This is satire.
Well, that's what happens when you release Jimmer Fredette, arguably the greatest King ever, right before you play the hottest team in the NBA.
I mean really, look at the facts! Without Jimmer guarding him, James Harden goes off for 43. Without Jimmer's soothing face and presence, DeMarcus goes ballistic and gets ejected. Without Jimmer's deadeye shooting, we go 19% in the first quarter. I mean, what would have happened if Jimmer had started in place of IT? The score would have been reversed.
I'm sick of all these people hating on Jimmer; he obviously was the glue that kept our team together. Without Jimmer, don't you come crying to me when the Kings get two wins to end the season. Finally everybody will see that I was right and that Jimmer really just needed another chance.
Do we want another blowout game? Then we need to buy Jimmer back, start him, and just get out of his way and watch that BYU magic all over again. Until then, with every loss, the Ghost of Jimmer will be haunting us, reminding us that we prematurely gave up on our best chance of a championship.
When Jimmer goes to NY and leads them first into the playoffs and then into the history books as NBA Champs, winning the Finals MVP, you'll all see that I was right! Until then, we will be haunted by the Curse of the Jimmer.
I hope you're happy with yourselves for releasing the greatest man to put on the purple. Whenever we lose, just sit back and ask yourself how this game would have been different if he was playing.
Jimmer? He was magical. Now, without him, all we have is a losing team! Without Jimmer, the Kings are .000. Is that the kind of team you want? Didn't think so.
Let this be a lesson to all future teams: Don't release/trade/waive Jimmer, or you lose.
And that's that.
