Sooo, before you read this everything hear is going to be a huge strech but anything is possible so lets begin. First let's look at the draft, say by some luck we get the 1st pick in the draft and we use it to select Embiid. Now since we selected Embiid, I am not a believer that Embiid and Cousin could be effective as they should be, considering their talents; on the court together. Having said that I would rather build around Embiid than Cousins because I think Embiid has a higher celing than Cousins, maybe just ever so slightly but still higher. Now here comes a trade scenario. We would propose a trade to OKC. The trade would go down like this.
Isaiah Thomas(Through Sign and Trade probably commanding about 8-10Mil)
Carl Landry (Throw him in there for Cap Purposes)
Now let that sink in for a bit. First things you guys would think of is why would OKC do that trade. Putting it plain and simple it would put OKC on the top of NBA's list of best teams. Say if Miami stays together adding Demarcus Cousins would put them into a much better position to beat Miami with Miami's lack of inside presence. And Cousins isn't a terrible post defender and with Ibaka there on the weak side OKC would be great. Also adding Isaiah Thomas would fill the point guard void left there by Westbrook. I actually think Landry would do perfect in OKC because when Cousin is on the bench they could throw Landry in the 4 and slide Ibaka to the 5 and not lose a tremendous amount of offense.
Now lets look at this from the Sacramento perspective. Adding Westbrook would do wonders for our team making us instant playoff contenders in my eyes. He would be able to defend some of the best guards, which we surely lack today. Can you imagine the fastbreak with Westbrook, Mclemore, and Gay? That would might possibly be the most athletic backcourt in the NBA. But you guys probably wouldn't want to Perkins contract, which is understandable. So that's when we can finally use our damn Amnesty Clause on Perkins to save us some cap space and maybe add a decent PF? But if we did keep him he has championship experience and can mentor a lot of the young minds we have in that locker room. I personally just like Perry Jones and his upside so i would love to have this guy as a part of our team.
So if this dream scenario were to come true this is what our Line-Up would look like.
SF:Gay (Hoping he opts out and resigns for longer deal)
Looking at the line-up I can envision playoffs already.
