The last time Isaiah Thomas played for the Kings was at Sleep Train Arena against the Milwaukee Bucks. IT played 36 minutes, scored 30 points, and dished out 4 assists. The Kings won handily 124-107. And of course this was the day Thomas got hurt after being kneed in the thigh by Zaza Pachulia. He hasn't played since and Ray McCallum has been doing an awesome job filling in for him.
Dare I ask, have we seen the last of Isaiah Thomas in a Sacramento Kings uniform? With only five games remaining in the season, I hope to see Isaiah play for the Kings a few more times. Ray McCallum is awesome too, but watching Isaiah play is very exciting. The way he hustles, his energy and dedication, leadership, undying motor, and his unquestioned work ethic. That is what I love about him.
Everyone knows he's a restricted free agent so hopefully the Kings will resign him. The Kings have the power to do so, but if he gets a crazy offer from some other team, (say about 9-11 million a year) he might be gone. If Rudy Gay chooses to opt in, resigning IT will get that much harder. Isaiah is a consummate professional and it will be very sad to see him leave. I hope the Kings can resign him to a nice contract so we can see him here for many years to come.
