Draft Night Trade Revision

Now if you saw my last trade post ( http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2014/6/1/5768898/draft-day-trade-improvement-outsiders-opinion), even though I got a majority of people agreeing with me. I think I made some weak arguments for the kings and yall got shafted a little bit. I wanted to personally re-do it and make the trade for both sides fairer.

Now assuming you read my previous post, I'll say it again I'm a non-bias rockets fan looking to present a fair deal between the Sacramento Kings and Philadelphia 76ers.

The revision trade is Thaddeus Young, 39th, and 47th pick for Jason Thompson, Travis Outlaw, and the 8th pick.

This gives the kings assets for in the 2nd round of a very deep draft which would have 1st round talent in other drafts. Along with cap flexibility from JT's long, middle of the road contract which can become killers when trying to sign players to max contracts down the road.

However the major point I wanted to make is one of the kings' greatest needs is rim protection. Outside of embiid there is no true center or shot blocker except for Isiah Austin. Now some might say a major drawback is he can't see out of one eye. Well it seems it doesn't affect his shot blocking as 3.2 in 28 minutes or his jumpshot at around 30% from the 3. As a center honestly you don't need to see the floor like a guard, but who cares when he can be a 3pt shooting 5 to stretch the floor for cousins. Now another draw back they say is his rebounding at about 6 boards per 30 minutes. Which is strange for a 7 footer with an insane 7'4.5" wingspan. That can be improved on especially with him gaining size on his right now light weight body at 220Ib and learning to box out. In all honesty that won't be much of a problem with all the good rebounders he will be next to, especially cousins. To get back what I stated earlier, you can't teach size and being a legit 7footer with great shot blocking skills and can hit the 3 to become a stretch 5 is a valuable two way player that could the kings could greatly use down the road if not become a great big off the bench at the very least.

The 47th pick could be used for a development player of another need, or depth, or draft and stash.

If you want to know how the addition of Thaddeus Young and loss of Jason Thompson's ugly contract would greatly help the kings, refer to my previous post.

Just a note, as a rockets fan, I saw the front page parsons article and wanted to say. The kings are capped out and wouldn't be able to sign parsons and a poison pill contract cannot be used on him because he was signed to a four year deal.
