Isaiah Thomas is getting a lot of interest from teams around the league so far since free agency has began. With guys like Jodie Meeks getting just over 6 million a year and Shaun Livingston getting just over 5 million teams aren't afraid to throw money at guys to get who they want. If those two can get 5/6 mil a year then i think we may be looking at around 9/10mil a year for IT. Once Kyle Lowry and Bledsoe come off the board IT will be the focus for those teams that missed out and i see them throwing a lot of money at him and then thats when it gets tricky for the Kings FO. The big debate right now between Kings Fans is how much they are willing to pay to keep Isaiah. Personally i would pay him 9/10mil but would be hesitant if it was any higher than that. But i get the feeling the FOs max for IT would be around 8mil.
Lets say the Kings do not match an offer for Isaiah and don't get a PG in return via sign-and-trade. Then what are some other options the Kings have? Jeremy Lin is one name who is being shopped around so Houston can clear cap. How would you guys feel about trading for Lin? He could be had fairly cheaply as Houston wants to unload him as quickly as possible. If not Lin then what are some other options we could pursue? The Kings wouldn't have to many options. Greivis Vasquez' name came up today as a possible name the Kings could bring back. Mario Chalmers? Ramon Sessions? There's not to many options at all, i can barely come up with any guys that may be able to come in and be effective. To me Lin is the next best option behind IT as none of the Free Agents really jump out at me, although if IT does happen to sign an offer sheet with the Celtics then i would love to bring Rondo in. The Kings may be able to swing a deal for Rondo without including IT but i don't think McLemore and extras would be enough. That's why we REALLY need to keep IT and maybe overpay for him a bit because we may be looking at having an average to below average PG starting for us next season.
