Game 72 - vs Dallas

Well, the Kings improbably avoided a sweep at the hands of Phoenix last week. With three losses in three tries against the Mavericks this season, can the Kings even dream of pulling it off tonight?

Smart money says "no way in hell." Smart money don't lie. Too many offensive weapons for Dallas, too few for Sacramento. It should be an explosion, and it should be fare well for the Kings.

I won't pretend to have the answer for how to beat the Mavs - no one does. Phoenix played lights out offense Sunday for their victory, and when Phoenix plays lights out on offense they will beat anybody and everybody. That is no blueprint for a mortal team like the Kings.

This game is a prayer, nothing more and nothing less. Sorry for those expecting analysis - you cannot analyze awesome versus not awesome when the gap is both evident and wide.

I'll be in attendance again, my last live game of the year. When I bought these tickets, I anticipated a fairly important matchup with ramifications of some kind. I'll instead settle for seeing greatness in the visitor's jerseys.

I wish I could go to Arco for those 10 dollar seats but I live in the wrong side of the country.

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
I don't think the $10 seats are seats. Are they? I thought they were the boxes painted on the floor to stand in up by the bar.

Have fun, TZ! Let us know if Eva buys you a beer.

He's pesky I tell ya.

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
They're seats, sort-of. Last night I got to share mine with the somewhat rude person next to me! Awesome!

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
Well, its nice to see it close thru 3 quarters at 70(Sac) to 69(Dallas)...

But can the kings keep this up thru the final death-star 4th quarter?

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
So explain this... why is Kevin Martin 1-5 on the night and 5 other Kings have more shots? Is he hurt or does he just have money on the game?

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
lol....good question!~His mojo seems a little off to me; it almost seems like he'd defering to the others more than he was when his short jumper was falling consistently....

Re: Game 72 - vs Dallas
Just got back from the game.  Some observations:

  • Ron played  his freakin' ass off on both sides of the ball.

  • His teammates played hard but not necessarily well.

  • John Salmons was abysmal on both sides of the ball. Poor decision making all night.

-KT didn't suck.

  • Muss seems unable to see obvious match-up problems on the floor and why he had Salmons in the game nearly the entire 4th quarter is beyond me. (Garcia is a better defender and though he is good for at least one completely bone-headed play a game, he at least will move the ball and shoot somewhere in the vicinity of the basket on wide-open 3's.)

  • Kings got back into the game near the end of the 4th by running the high-post offense through Brad.  In the final, crucial possessions, Muss decided that force-feeding the ball to Ron in the post was a better idea. We all saw the outcome.

  • Dallas is stacked - even without Dirk.

  • They're not bad from the FT stripe either.

  • Josh Howard is a bad-ass

  • Stackhouse's shot at the end of the game was insane. Ron was wearing him like a high-priced hooker, and he still nailed it.

  • Jason Terry had the quietest 27 points I've ever seen. (I watched every second of the game and can't believe he took 20 shots.)

  • Kings lose.....again.

I meant to say that "Ron was RIDING him like a high-priced hooker."

Hate it when I fuck up my similes ;-)
