Considering the Artest-era history, the league could have justified something much longer and, as Bill Plaschke writes in The Los Angeles Times, the Lakers are very lucky to escape World Peace’s latest lapse with only seven games. They are far luckier than poor Harden, whose future remains clouded by his concussion. Chris Mannix of SI.com joins the chorus usually heard with N.H.L. suspensions and decries the N.B.A.’s unwillingness to send a harsher message. But Ken Berger of CBSSports.com lauds the league for not overreacting, although it is hard to argue that a league can take head injuries too seriously.

This is a graph of assisted baskets by the Kings last season, thanks to BasetballValue.com.. It's pretty simple: to get from passer to scorer, follow the lines clockwise. Purpler/thicker line means that combination happened more frequently.

I put this together quickly to test out using Gephi. Once this season is over, I might try to do something more advanced, but for the moment, if anyone wants to try something similar, this is the code I used to parse the play-by-play data.

Sorry if I am ruining it for those of us that already park here, but I feel it's more important to save the $12 from going to the Maloofs then to save the spots.
