PRESEASON GAME 1/8 - at Dallas, Open Game Thread

I'm excited. You excited? I'm excited.

Here's why:

How is Musselman going to act on the sidelines? Entirely different than Adelman, I'm going to guess. That's exciting.
How quick is Bibby going to appear? Much quicker than when we last say him, I'm going to guess. That's exciting.
How tough will Brad look in the paint? Who knows. I'm still excited to see, though.
Our first real glimpses at Quincy Douby, Loren Woods, and John Salmons in Kings purple. And maybe even some Louis Amundson, Pooh Jeter, and Justin Williams. That's exciting.
Who's going to start at power forward? Actually, this makes me nervous. I predict Kenny, though.
Will Ron-Ron sink his first field goal attempt (which will absolutely be a three-point shot)?
Will Big Nasty get some run?
Will the Ronnie Price Era supplant the Jason Hart Era? (Meaning: Will Price get off the bench before Hart?)
Will Potapenko play? (If not, I think he's done.)

So many questions. Preseason games don't mean crap - but a lot of questions start to get answered tonight. That's exciting.

Kings are up 24-14 early in the first quarter. Bibby has 11 on 3-6 shooting, including three three-pointers, two for two from the line, and four assists. Brad Miller is 3-3 for six points.

Mavs are out-rebounding 11-8 so far.

At halftime, Kings are up 8, 49-41.

1140 said that Eric Musselman was coaching this "as if it were the last game of the NBA Finals".

After Bibby's hot start, with 11 points, he's sat, totalling 10 first-half minutes, with no additional scoring.

Kings are now out-rebounding, 23-18, and Shareef came in to score 4 in three minutes. KT is still scoreless with his three boards.

Artest is having an ugly shooting night so far, 0-8 from the field, including 0-3 beyond the arc. He is 4-6 from the line for his 4 points.

Kings kicking some tail in the second half. On a 16-3 run, it's now 65-44 in favor of the good guys. Bibby now has 16 points.

Nails a 3 to pad his totals to 19 points and 5 assists.

K-Mart now in double figures with 12. He also leads in rebounds with 7. Artest has 10 also, thanks to 6 made foul shots, on top of being 2-11 from the floor.

Williamson is 4-4, with 8 points. 'Reef just dunked, so he's at 8 points too. Kings have 18 assists, and the Mavs, only 8. Still winning the rebound battle, 45-30. Douby is 0-2, and has yet to score.

The Mavs scored the last 8. I assume no defense was needed.

Of note, some of my Mavs stats are broken for sure. Yahoo! claims their individual stats add up to 59 points, and that they were on the floor for half an hour less than the Kings, combined. My guess? It just seemed like it. Stupid Yahoo!.

The Mavs didn't play 4 of their 5 best players, and they didn't seem to be trying all that hard out there, really. I doubt either of those factors will be an issue come regular season. Bibby looked pretty good. Not much to say besides that.
