Run 'N' Gun At the Oracle Ends Kings Streak
Tonight's game can be looked at with two entirely different viewpoints:
- The Kings fell behind early, were outrun by an aggressive Warriors squad, and lost in an old fashioned tail-whipping.
- The Kings stumbled out of the gate, but matched the Warriors the rest of the way.

In just fifteen minutes of play, the Warriors exposed the Kings tonight, and made them look like a team that won't be challenging for the playoffs, if Sir Charles is to be believed. While Kevin Martin was his usual outstanding self, posting 26, supported by 20 from Ron "Tru Warrior" Artest, the supporting cast didn't get it together. Mike Bibby followed an unreal 32 with a more human 13, bringing more comments that his wrist is giving him trouble.
And Kenny Thomas made us all wonder what he's doing in with an NBA jersey on. The guy can drop a double-double one day, and show us he's reverted back to a 0 points, 6 turnovers non-factor. There's no telling what we can expect night after night.
But enough about the Kings. They lost, and their record slips to 5-3, while the Warriors leapfrog them with a record of 6-3. Our neighbors to the West were led by Davis' brilliant night, as he powered his way to 36 points to add to his 18 assists. And my saying the Kings had six men in double figures to the Warriors' five is small consolation. But who really had the best night? That has to go to Golden State of Mind's Fantasy Junkie, who correctly anticipated the game would be a run-n-gun, fast paced Warriors win. His 123-109 prediction came eerily close to the final tally as well. So... while we adjust our standings and knock the Kings down a peg, we salute you, Fantasy Junkie, and ready our team for a Sunday thriller against the Satan San Antonio Spurs.

And as to Sir Charles:
<hands on my hips, snapping my head and wagging my finger>
Oh no you didn't say that the reason why you don't buy a woman a watch is because there is a clock on the stove! Unbelievable. Yet, it did come from Charles. I think Ernie just about spit coffee out his nose on that one.
The Spurs are going down. Bets now being taken on Ginobli flops. If you want to see what nasty means go to their game blog on Sunday at:

I read them a lot last season and I think I still have nightmares. Those people are MEAN!!!

Re: Spurs blog
- Duncan is soft.
- Parker is selfish and doesn't play defense. He should be traded.
- The Spurs make their fans suffer.
- Losing to the Bobcats has convinced a poster that the Spurs won't win the championship.
- Pop is hurting the Spurs more than helping them. He can't figure out a way to win.
- Bowen is washed up.
Fandom is a funny thing.

Re: Spurs blog
I couldn't resist reading their blog all through the playoffs last year. If the Posidon Adventure was a blog - that would be it. There are a few people who are into the actual game play and offer up a good point of view from the Spur's side. Poor, misguided souls. ; )

I think he's as mean as the Spurskies....& as for Tim Duncan, doesn't he seem like he's going"Dum-de-dum-de-dum" in his head?kinda like K9 when he's sucking up the offense...
(Still love your rebounding, kenny; really....)

Usually the Kings own the Warriors so the next 3 games against the Kings will be a little scary walking into enemy territory here.

And the scariest thing about Baron Davis' unusual performance? Of his 18 assists, he had 10 by the end of the first quarter. He was on pace for a 40 assist night O_O
Who new Boom Dizzle could shoot and not make turnovers?

What kind of a team are we? We are sort of stuck in the middle right now.

Defense?
I think most of us were counting on the Kings defense to get them somewhere this year, since scoring isn't going to come as easy as it has in years past, but after giving up 111 to Memphis on our homecourt and then 117 a night later in Oakland, I'm not sure Musselman has made any difference with his "defensive" philosophy.
The San Antonio game will give us a good idea of where we actually stand. The last time we faced them, they eliminated us from the playoffs in Sacramento by a score of 105-83.

random thoughts and questions
- there is no reason that Ron Artest should be getting the most shot attempts on our team - unless his ass is about 5 feet from the basket. Scoring 20 points on 22 shots is soooo AI, and it's the opposite of offensive efficiency.
- what the hell issue does Muss have with Garcia? He should have played significant minutes last night. A good ball handler and defender sitting on the bench when the rest of the team was doing neither well? (I mentioned last night that I love Corlis, but playing him over Garcia last night made no sense.)
- when a team is conducting a lay-up drill on you, shouldn't you consider maybe one hard foul?
- Do you ever wonder what the hell KT is thinking when he has the ball in his hands?
- I don't like admitting this, but Jason looked solid last night. I'm not certain if that's because everybody else looked so bad or if he really just played pretty darn well. He always plays solid D, but he offense is a big question mark.
- If the Kings don't start understanding the radical ideas called defensive rotation and weak-side help defense, they are in for more long nights.
- The Kings may match up better with San Antonio than Golden State. I think they are going to have a tough time with "run 'n' gun" teams the entire year - especially if they shoot a low percentage and turn the ball over.
- Are we all making too much out of a road loss on the second game of a back-to-back? (Hey, cut down the turnovers and improve the shooting % a few percentages points, and we win that ugly f*cking game.)

Re: Run 'N' Gun At the Oracle Ends Kings Streak
In regard to Silverace99, Biedrins did not get easy basket after easy basket. He scored 9 points in 43 minutes, 3 of which came at the free throw line. Thats three baskets he scored. Where he killed us was on defense, grabbing 16 boards and 4 blocks.
And "Boom Dizzle" ended up with 8 turnovers.

Awww shucks
Was it just me or did the Kings look really flat? Except for Kevin Martin and Ron Ron, nobody out there for the Kings seemed to have any energy. I know it was the end of a back to back, but I thought they'd bring it at The Oracle.
