"Matt Lauer, up on NBC. You look like a girl, don't talk to me."

SLAM's Sam Rubenstein has Ron Artest's CD. He reviews it on his blog. Now, I've never been more excited for a hip hop flavored disc in my life.

I mean, calling out Matt f'n Lauer on the opening track? It's like it's too good to be true.

Here's Sam's call to action:

I know Ron wants to be judged as a rapper, not a rapping basketball player, but it needs to be said that this is the greatest album in the history of rapping basketball players. The beats are nothing special, but not painfully bad. I don't want to use the gangsta scale, cause that's Omar's thing. If I were to grade it, I'd give it 4 out of 5. Right now my life is more enriched than yours because I have heard this album and you have not. Catch up.

I'm on it. I do wish I had known it was this "good" a day earlier, though - on Wednesday, Ryan from HoopsAddict.com interviewed me for an upcoming podcast, and one of his questions was on Ron-Ron's CD and whether I'd be buying it. I mentioned something about it having to be better than CWebb's efforts. Little did I know.

Incredible...
I would never have been interested in even entertaining the thought of getting the CD, but upon reading the review, I at least promise to take a cursory glance at finding it somewhere online for free.

Just don't tell the RIAA, or I'll have to make a thug life CD from behind bars, y'all.

A-hole of oblivious?
that's nice of you.

Gotta make sure those local musicians don't make any money.

In the slim chance this is discussing my "download for free" comment, I'll point you to one place where it's clear I've put in plenty of money for music - it's all purchased.

I'm sure I sent somebody to college on those payments.
