Justin Williams In Trouble?
Local police spent the day searching the residence of Justin Williams. No word on what they were looking for and no charges have been filed. But I don't recall too many stories where the police searched someone's home because nothing was wrong.
Mr. Watkins, don't pack those bags just yet...
Update [2007-10-18 3:0:5 by section214]: Alleged rape per News10. Say it ain't so, Justin. Say it ain't so.
Update [2007-10-18 14:52:46 by TZ]: Video of the police press conference available at KOVR's website. An updated Bee story says Williams has been cooperative, he's never been arrested before, and the only other person believed to be at the home on the night in question is not a member of the Kings organization.
Update [2007-10-18 15:53:23 by TZ]: The Kings have given Williams an indefinite leave of absence, which typically isn't good. (Ron Artest got the same for his domestic violence arrest last year.) Justin's on his way back to Sacramento now, very possibly to be arrested.

Re: Justin Williams In Trouble?
Still, I don't want to speculate on anything but from what I have heard it sounds like there were more than just Justin in the house during the time. Maybe a party with alcohol involved? Some women over to have some fun with the rich basketball players getting drunk and going too far? Maybe Justin went too far?
No matter what, I HOPE it's not really rape because that would be devastating. Not just for Justin but for the woman and for the Kings organization and it's fans.

Re: Justin Williams In Trouble?
I don't know what the etiquette is in this situation or anything but it seems highly unprofessional especially since he is a sports celebrity (of sorts) in Sacramento.

Re: Justin Williams In Trouble?
This undeserved stigma is not right; and it is especially bogus in a time when the police and the DA often choose to prosecute crimes based soley on the politically correct nature of the alleged crime. (Keep in mind, for the local DA office to function daily decisions must be made regarding which cases to prosecute and which cases to dismiss.)
It this mindset that led to the Duke episode and until it changes innocent people are going to suffer. Moreover, the system itself may suffer when the public begins to question the veracity of guilty verdicts imposed on those rightly found to be criminals.

Re: Justin Williams In Trouble?
Woman do sometimes lie; men are not all barbarians. This simple truth, however, doesn't fit the media template. How long did those Duke kids have to suffer because of race-baiting, politcally correct chicanery.
If there was a crime, then let there be punishment. But, until it is proven, people's privacy should be respected and innocence presumed.
