Geoff Petrie's Full Statement

Here's what Geoff Petrie had to say about L'Affair Ron-Ron:

"The Kings have excused Ron Artest indefinitely from any further participation with the team due to his arrest today for domestic violence. The Kings will continue to accumulate reliable and official facts and information over the next several days before taking any further action."

As expected, he's out tomorrow. I assume he'll sit Thursday as well since it's a national TV game.

Could the Kings possibly go through the process to get his contract voided? Could them attempt to get his agent to agree to a buy-out? Could they waive him? Will they suspend him for the last two months of the season and ship him off for junk this summer?

We'll find out, but apparently not soon.

Re: Geoff Petrie's Full Statement
I'd tend to think that with the season not exactly playoff-bound, the Kings will exercise more flexibility in bringing Artest back later rather than sooner. If Bibby and Martin start to go off on a consistent basis, then it could get very interesting.

At least there wasn't a Ford Bronco involved this morning...

Re: Geoff Petrie's Full Statement
If the team starts playing better teams, we might find out that Bibby and Martin aren't going to push this team to the playoffs. I am not convinced that Bibby is back on track. He did not shoot well the other night.
Don't get too excited about this team without Ron until we beat a Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio type team.

Re: Geoff Petrie's Full Statement
Yea this is true..so either way we find out bibby's leadership isnt strained by ron....& he plays better....or he doesnt...i dont think the kings lose in this scenario i really dont...& i hardly think the kings making the playoffs is just a scenario of how well the kings play...but more of how much the other teams havent done to create separation up to this point.
