SBNation Postseason Awards: Rookie and Most Improved

I failed at getting Sactown Royalty's votes over the past week for the SBNation Postseason Awards. No matter - Kevin Martin still won Most Improved, as you can read about at Indy Cornrows.

Brandon Roy won SBNation Rookie of the Year. (Big surprise.)

Rookie and Most Improved
It would be unfortunate if he did win. I am not the fan of the jump from scrub to mediocre to MIP winner. That does show improvement but his improvement is a matter of increased minutes. In both 2004-5 and 2005-6 he averaged roughly 15 minutes with 4pts and 4rebs. He has doubled his minutes in 2006-7 and, whatdoyaknow, now averages roughly 9 and 9. If he was such a valuable piece don't you think he would get more than 8 min and 2 and 1 in the Ws first playoff game?

Martin hands-down, TZ has cronicled the statistical significance of his increased productivity so I will not reiterate it here, we all know he is the shit. Who has a bigger impact on his team... Biedrins or K-Mart? You decide...hopefully the writers or whoever will decide as well.
