Since Mario Elie obliterated Marc Iavaroni and Stan Van Gundy in Round 2 of the coaching polls, and since Reggie Theus has emerged as a prime candidate, let's pick our poison between the two.

Consider this our version of the swimsuit contest.

Elie actually sat the year out as a broadcaster for Houston. Golden State let him go at the start of the season.

And sadly was not very insightful for the year. Perhaps the few times I saw him doing Rockets games he was having an off night. He is very monotonous and boring really, but perhaps the players will respond to him. My impressions of him were honestly not good...Elie the player was maybe above average. Elie the coach...lets hope for the best.

i am not familiar with mario elie's philosophy but i'd like to imagine he'd be more of a "one of the guys" coach as opposed to musselman's napoleonic iron-fist which would serve this team better

I dont want a 1 of the guys coach either. I want a guy who understands his players and their needs but isnt their friend either. In short i want rick adelman back lol.

adelman would be my first choice, but it would be tail between the legs at this point

Adelman is just not going to happen. That bridge has burned.

I like Elie better right now because of his NBA assistant and championship experience.

To me championship experience is bullshit. Avery Johnson has a ring too. Did it help the mavs against choking vs Miami or Golden State up to this point? Mario Elie may be a quality candidate but it aint cuz of the 3 rings.

I just want a coach the players will respect and bring experience and a has done things in the playoffs like a Rick Carlisle, who I thought just had a crappy roster.

I wish for the Greg Oden Era.

I really believe carlisle can coach. But i dont think he's an upper echelon coach and his track record proves he can only win with certain types of players. The kings dont have that. And like musselman he tends to wear on players quickly. He's just a better head coach than musselman is.

i know hindsight is 20/20 but did anybody believe indiana was going to get the better of the deal, getting two white stiffs for two athletes who can create their own shot?

Or from the police in Oakland. If Stephen can nearly get hit by a car in a strip club and shoot his gun in the air to scare people away in Indiana, the possiblities seem endless in Oakland.
