Kevin Martin Has Been Working Out, Francisco Garcia Has Been Screaming

From True Hoop's Henry Abbott:

Martin says has put on 14 pounds of muscle since the end of the season.

... which means he's up to 154 lbs now. Awesome.

Henry also has kind words about Francisco Garcia's performance:

Francisco Garcia looks pretty great. He has been a vocal leader, playing his heart out for the Sacramento team. Even though he's already someone who has played regular minutes in the NBA, he's killing himself here. He was knocked down hard to the floor, by my count, at least six times in today's game. Afterwards I asked him what he was doing on the floor so much. His answer: "That's my game!" Awesome.

El Flaco's game in busted metaphor: A screaming jackrabbit with Barry White and some happy hardcore sh*t alternating on his iPod.

"That's my game!"

(Also, since I've stolen/abused it, credit goes to R3DLiN3 for coming up with 'El Flaco,' which is Spanish for 'the skinny one.')

Holy shit!? Props from TZ. Whoa!! I didn't come up with it however. I remember watching one of those halftime segments in which they showed Cisco back in the Bronx and he said that El Flaco was his nickname growing up. And as for a nickname for Douby..How about Unibrow?

LOL @ up to 154 lbs today.

El Flaco is a cook nickname regardless of whoever came up with it. What's old becomes new again.

As far as performance I think it's awesome Cisko is playing in SL. Nothing really gained but if it gives him confidence to shoot jumpers in games then I say go for it. As far as Kmart adding muscle that can't hurt him can it?

Re: Kevin Martin Has Been Working Out, Francisco G
After Artest's comments about staying in Sacto, I have no idea where Cisco is going to find minutes to play this year.  Since 2 and 3 positions are already locked... Unless we move Artest to PF sometimes. He has said in the past that he prefers playing with  his back to the basket instead of shooting mid range shots.

Re: Kevin Martin Has Been Working Out, Francisco G
They could go small and shift Artest to PF like you suggested or as a result of not having a solid number 2 pg they could move cisco to point and let him run the offense a bit.  I am leaning more towards Artest moving to PF and going with a suns type lineup minus the athleticism of Stoudamire and the creativity of Nash.

I would also bet that since Theus coached him earlier in his career that they will find some minutes for him somewhere.

Re: Kevin Martin Has Been Working Out, Francisco G
Just because Ron says it does not make it so.  He also said he wanted to retire a King as well I can't see that happening either

Cisco and Ron
Even if he doesn't start, he will back up 3 different positions; so, I am positive that he will get his minutes this year. Plus, Reggie LOVES him.

If Ron could rebound a bit better, I think that he could play some 4. However, despite his great size and strength, I actually think he plays better defense on the exterior than on the interior.

Getting Bigger
Mike Bibby added weight two years ago, and didn't have a great season.  On the other hand, he lost weight last year, and didn't have a great season.  My dream would be that the Kings are so good this year, that Mike Bibby will be doing that lame little dance a lot, causing him to lose even more weight.
