Bibby and the Cavs...

Looks like the Bibby/Cavs talks may be on again...
In this particular case, the supposed deal is dead as the Spurs have pulled the trigger on another deal with the Rockets, according to ESPN.
I really don't see Gooden as anything different than Thomas or 'Reef other than he is younger. But at least Petrie seems to be kicking over rocks in search of a deal.

Re: Bibby and the Cavs...
Would you rather have Gooden and Jones (and their contracts) or Ratliff (expiring) and Rondo (team option)?

Re: Bibby and the Cavs...
If that's the case we may have to wait until the trade deadline and someone gets desparate (most likely the Heat & Cavs). I find it weird that the talks have been as tame as they are, it could just be Geoff putting up a smokescreen or what not, but I thought we would have more interest in the two ballhogs then we have had.

Re: Bibby and the Cavs...
Trading Artest seems to need to happen sooner or later. Trading the entire front line can also be included in this (realistic or not).
Trading Bibby can wait until his value returns is another common point made in threads lately.
Trading Artest is going to be difficult for Petrie because he insists on getting value for what he trades. I think it's a mistake to not dump Artest on the Knicks even if you don't get David Lee at some point. If Petrie gets stared down it can't hurt potentially in more GM's willing to do deals with him in the future.
Trading Bibby is one of those either or deals. Either you do it or you dont but trading him now doesn't bring much benefit. Down the road there could be some benefit though. I think Petrie wants to wait to deal Bibby so he can make sure he has the value he wants for him. Otherwise he could have dealt him in February to Cleveland.
