Martin's Trainer Works His Players Really Hard

Friend of StR David Thorpe -- Kevin Martin's trainer -- outlines a sample workout from his Florida gym for ESPN.com (via True Hoop). It's 90 minutes of brutality on paper.

I've heard Kevin's due to be back at Thorpe's gym this month for a few weeks. He spent some time there after the season ended and I think will be back there leading up to the Kings' training camp. Guy doesn't give himself a break, does he?

Re: Martin's Trainer Works His Players Really Hard
Wouldn't it be a beautiful thing to see KMart somewhere near 200 lbs?  That's only about 15 lbs more, which I think is possible in the next few years if he keeps working hard. (By comparison, Kobe is about the same height but around 30 - 35 lbs heavier than Kevin.)

Re: Martin's Trainer Works His Players Really Hard
Word on the street is that KMart put on 14 lbs. of muscle since the season ended. I believe that would put him right at 200 lbs., according to his weight at hoopshype.com. Then again, we've never actually seen him get on the scale to verify it.

Hope that's true.  He absolutely needs to get bigger if he's going to take the next step up and become a true "go to" guy.

Re: Martin's Trainer Works His Players Really Hard
He's up 14 lbs from last year, but will probably play at 10 lbs heavier than last season. (I'm guessing it's hard to keep this kind of weight training up during the season.)
