GAME 46 vs Chicago, Preview & Game Thread

The vaunted home back-to-back... which makes absolutely no sense, especially considering Chicago had a night off. Boo!

In terms of potential exhaustion, the frontcourt's the only place I'm worried actually... and then I remember the opponent, check out Ben Wallace's stats (4.5 points and 8.9 rebounds in 32 minutes) and learn to relax. The Bulls offense is so woeful, and this Kings offense can look so electric... I'm having trouble getting worried.

Game's at 7. We'll be representing from the cheap seats. Go Kings.

I'm looking for a blowout
not a let's play down to their level performance.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 3:12 PM PST reply actions

Not me
The Kings have a bad habit of playing to the level of their opponent.  Remember the Seattle game?

by KingsFan on Feb 2, 2008 4:21 PM PST reply actions

And...
The home game against Philly over the holidays?

by Hoops916 on Feb 2, 2008 4:50 PM PST up reply actions

BOOK IT!
No need to sweat this one at all.

I could hold the Bulls to under 80 points myself playing 1 on 5 against them. Sheesh.

I expect nothing less than a blowout.

There's no need to jinx them when you're facing reality.

KINGS WIN!!!!!!!!

by 20+ tonight.

I'll be back for the Utah game because the Seattle game is a booked game.

IF I were a gambling man...
Tonight's odds, according to Vegas.

Kings Money line is -360
Kings are favored by 8
The over/under is 199.9

Good luck everybody!

Wait....Why is everybody clapping? Everyone around me is clapping.... I guess I should be clapping too... GO LAKERS!!! I hate living in So Cal

My take
I'll take the Kings to win and cover.  I'll take the under.

It looks live Vegas really thinks the Kings should win, so thats good.

BTW
The reason the Kings won last night is because they took care of the ball (less turnovers) and rebounded better than NO.

Let's hope they continue in that manner tonight!

by KingsFan on Feb 2, 2008 6:10 PM PST reply actions

Kevin Martin
4-4 from the field, 9er points.

Bibbster... no points, but 3 assists? Who does he think he is, Beno?

by iashwash on Feb 2, 2008 7:26 PM PST reply actions

ron ron
every time he has the ball i think nooooo, but he'll score and then i say yes.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 7:32 PM PST reply actions

ain't that
the scariest feeling in the world. Then you start wondering whether you really want him to make that shot, because then he's just going to start taking more of them... scary.

by iashwash on Feb 2, 2008 7:33 PM PST up reply actions

yup
and artest has started the game 2-7.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 7:46 PM PST up reply actions

I hate when Beno
starts trying to get too fancy. That's when he turns the ball over or jacks up bad shots.

by SavageBeast on Feb 2, 2008 7:47 PM PST reply actions

Uh
someone besides Kmart start hitting some shots please.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 7:51 PM PST reply actions

consistently
inconsistent. that's this team. and it's no wonder why they're the closest team in the nba to a .500 winning percentage (tied with washington, actually).

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 7:54 PM PST reply actions

Time to get the the line
because NOBODY  (sans-Martin) is making their shots.

hahaha!
ron artest knocked tyrus thomas down, scored over him then offered a hand to pick him up. ron artest, the upper class of the nba!

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 7:57 PM PST reply actions

Do I smell
a triple double for Miller? Or is that just Beno?

by SavageBeast on Feb 2, 2008 8:13 PM PST up reply actions

the kings bench...ughh!
3-14 FG, 0-5 3 PT. FG, 6 REBS, 0 ASS, 0 STLS, 1 BLK. Only positive off the bench is 6-6 from the line. Besides that, a lot of missed shots.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 8:08 PM PST reply actions

That's the second quarter ending shot
Beno has taken a second too early. He needs to watch the clock a little better. He could get a drible or two closer.

by SavageBeast on Feb 2, 2008 8:15 PM PST reply actions

Wow, lucky to be up 63-60 at the half
Bulls shooting 60% Kings only 43% like that 22-23 from the FT line though.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 8:16 PM PST reply actions

the bulls
shoot 60% and are down at the half. that's funny. beatin' them at the line.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 2, 2008 8:17 PM PST reply actions

yo yo
check out the +/-'s - Bulls bench is killing, our bench is dying.

http://www.nba.com/games/20080202/CHISAC/boxscore.html

Result of each other, maybe?

by iashwash on Feb 2, 2008 8:27 PM PST reply actions

btw
for those reading this when its too late to look at the halftime +/-s:

All the Chi-town starters are below -8 (most are worse - -12 min), and all their bench is +5 or better (most are much better - +9 max).

Sactown's starters are all +9 or +10 (except Mikki, who's -4), and all their starters are -4 (except Cisco, who's -7).

Weird.

Double-Double for B-rad
6:39 to go in the 3rd. 14pts. 11 boards

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 8:39 PM PST reply actions

Bibby!
0 points? 6 assits!?! what the hell is going on here?

by iashwash on Feb 2, 2008 8:52 PM PST reply actions

Tired legs?
Don't know what Cisco's excuse is though.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 9:02 PM PST up reply actions

I could suggest something
but some could label it either "inflammatory" or "pure hatred" in regards to Bibbilicious.

John Salmons
John really does not play well off the bench.  If we can move Artest, I like Salmons starting, with 'Cisco backing him up off the bench (getting way more minutes than he does now).

Kings down 3
with 5:56 to play.

That's the problem with letting a team just hang around.

I have an idea
how about we get a shot for Kmart. What's he had? 1 shot in the 2nd half? maybe 2.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 9:15 PM PST reply actions

Wow
no one can hit the side of a barn

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 9:28 PM PST reply actions

Another monster game by Miller
22 points 19 boards. 14.3 to go Kings up 4. Bah, he missed both FTs

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 9:38 PM PST reply actions

Well it wasn't pretty, but
a win's a win. another 20-20 game for Miller.

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 2, 2008 9:40 PM PST reply actions

Who'd a thunk?
Who'd a thunk we'd see Brad Miller go for 20 rebounds against Ben Wallace.  Oh, the world has been turned upside down!

by Carl on Feb 2, 2008 11:18 PM PST reply actions

Anyone
still wanna trade Brad?

by kingme on Feb 3, 2008 12:02 AM PST reply actions

Well
I can see why someone would...he actually has some trade value now.

I'm with TZ though - I'd lean towards Miller being able to continue to play at this level another 3 or 4 years.  So he could be an important piece of this team's future. Bibby and Artest...not so much.

Disclaimer: I am anti-Bibby.

If you could get cap room this offseason
then hell yes. I'd make Detroit throw in a 1st though. I'd really have to make them throw their lot in that way.

Brad
Theus said that Brad should get consideration for...no, not player of the week...most improved player. I have not looked around to see who is having a breakout season this year, but Brad does at least deserve props for increasing his scoring by 5.6, rebounds by 3.3 (and rising!), blocks and steals by a half, and he's shooting a better percentage from the field and the line. I like this Brad.

The sad part is
This Brad has an effect of helping bringing together an inconsistent group. I like Brad. I'm not taking back my diary. I'm just saying it's time for the Kings to explore all options. (Trading Artest & Bibby is an absolute must.)

hmm
i wonder if a former all star has ever been awarded most improved player some time after his all star selection. sounds like a great nba trivia question.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 3, 2008 1:52 PM PST up reply actions

I think the award can't go to an established playa
From Mark Stein talking about Hedo.

"he doesn't qualify for MIP consideration based on the league's official guidelines. The MIP, according to the actual ballot distributed every year, is "designed to honor an up-and-coming player.""

by Kfan in Korea on Feb 3, 2008 2:09 PM PST up reply actions

hmm
Brad or Gasol? I'd go for Brad

by kingme on Feb 3, 2008 1:01 PM PST reply actions

brad
the best part about the last 3 games for him is that it's been against okafor, chandler and ben wallace! yeah, we thought miller was overpaid. look at ben wallace. he should change the spelling of his name to been wallace. or has been wallace.

by kingsfaninjapan on Feb 3, 2008 1:58 PM PST reply actions

Zing!
That beats mine. The best that I could come up with was "All About The Benjamin's" Wallace.
