Tuesday Footnotes
- Newest Blogger MVP rankings.
- Via Amick's blog, Orlando Sentinel Tim Povtak has a good column on the perils of Ron Artest, and Florida Today's John Denton endorses the Reggie Theus era.
Not to offend any fellow travelers of this blog world, but there doesn't seem to be much going on out there.

I think for us as Kings fans
Yao's injury,
I couldn't believe Yao played with that injury for two weeks before it was diagnosed. I don't know which bone he broke, but I've read that the fifth metatarsal is the most common broken foot bone from sports injuries. Both from the pounding the foot takes and rolled ankles (the tendon tightens up too fast and can snap the bone).
I've broken that one before and only managed to limp around for three days before going to the doctor (torn ligament pain meter: I went three months with a torn ankle ligament before going to the doctor. Broken bone pain meter: times 12 million (exageration, but not by much)). I can't begin to imagine playing on it for two weeks unless his was a pounding injury that gradually got worse and finally caused the bone to break.
Either way, Yao has my sympathy, it frickin' HURTS in ways you can't even imagine unless you've broken it.

I feel him. Both options suck. Cast and crutches or surgery to insert (a) screw (or twelve). He's going to lose a lot of muscle in that calf either way. I know he has access to better medical treatment/recovery than I did, but it still sucks.
When I broke mine, I had bone end separation of about an inch, so I was given both options. If he's being told surgery, his bone separation is probably worse because the recovery time is similar whether you have surgery or just let it heal on its own. I "think" you can walk on it sooner though if you have the surgery, so maybe they're hoping he can play sooner by having surgery.

Rick Adelman is cursed
T-Mac
LOL!
Hilarious. According to Jon Barry when he mentioned it to both Bobby and T-Mac they were excited to know the clip existed and wanted to see it.
I don't even remember it but it was so much better than the Christie-Fox fight, even without the flying purses featured in that one.
The best part? It was a no fear fight, it never felt like it was going to spill off the floor.
I think TrueHoop linked to the youtube clip on Monday.

What does Jesus' footwear have to do with free agency?
I swear, Artest is like a little kid. He just says whatever pops into his head.
