And Woe is Us, Together
Be but for the grace of a Spencer Hawes drop-step, that would have been a complete waste of time. To the Hope Alert System!

Home wins over Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio. Double-digit home losses to Philadelphia, the Clippers, Seattle. Boo.
F.P. Santangelo this morning blamed it on the fans. When the other two Rise Guys pushed back, he called it a 'chicken and egg thing' -- as if the crowd sucked because the Kings sucked, and the Kings sucked because the crowd sucked. As if it's some confounding paradox.
The logical extension: I don't know who had good tickets last night, but if that person could stop telling Ron Artest to take step-back 20-footers, that'd be fantastic. If the fans on the sidelines could please stop asking Mike Bibby to shoot every single time he touches the ball, we'd appreciate it. If you fans would stop distracting all these 6'7 players when they're trying to get rebounds over 6'10 opponents, you know that'd help a lot.
This team sucks because this team sucks. It does not always suck; in fact, sometimes this team is good. Really good. But often enough, it sucks. You have to suck to lose by Seattle at home by 13 points; there is little other explanation. Brad Miller is vital, and Beno Udrih's gotten better important to that second unit, yes and yes. That allows for a close game... not the Kenny Thomas white flag.
Of course, this team will come out and stick it to Utah with fire and fury, and we'll all trot our hopes and dreams back out to the yard, and our arrow will get pushed up a bit, and merriment will be had by all. And eventually, the see-saw will pick up speed again, and we'll have a ton of fun, and we'll all be yellin' and scream' and hoping. And then the bell will ring, and recess will be over, and we'll wonder why we feel like that whole recess was just a big ol' waste of time.

FP.....
There is nothing worse than someone who probably gets free tickets, then tells the paying public how to behave.
Some teams lay an egg sometimes it happens, thats life in sports, but don't tell me what I should be doing at an event where I have paid my hard earned money.

The Mike Bibby experiment....
How many times the last couple of seasons have you heard Grant, Jerry, et al say the following: "When Mike's shot comes back, this team...."
Maybe, knuckleheads, his shot ain't coming back!
Beno is already a better PG than Bibby and will only get better with playing time. Yet, Theus has no choice but to play the chucker. Too bad.
Good point, TZ: The only good thing about last night was watching how good Spencer is going to be in the post. The guy has got the moves and can use both hands. And he's got a McHale attitude: He believes he can score every time he touches the ball. Things to look forward to in a couple years.

For those of you who
BTW, how is that a bunch of professionals forget the most fundamental points to attacking a zone?

I don't know who wrote the post prior to the game about Bibby and Artest showing us their worst sides, but it ended up being a very prescient bit of forecasting.

the fans?
That being said, this season's going pretty much how I expected it to be. We take our lumps in exchange for getting young guys who are brimming with promise some solid experience. We're young and inconsistant. But I'd rather have this team discover during what's basically a throwaway season for us than in the middle of a playoff push.
That and you can't say this hasn't been a damn entertaining season compared to the last couple years

Artest to Phoenix?
"The Suns will be looking to add another player in the next few weeks, general manager Steve Kerr said."
Could that player be Ron Artest?
Think about it. They just traded Marion for Shaq, and in doing so elevated the minutes of Boris Diaw and Grant Hill, so they may be looking for some depth and a little more physicality.
The problem is they really don't have many pieces that aren't a part of their core, so it might have to be a three-way to work.

Note
They desperately need another point guard for emergency duty. Barbosa's fine, Diaw's going to be relied on much more in the frontcourt, Bell's not the type of two-guard to get the team into its offense. Mike Bibby's way out of their price range, though. They need a Beno.

Yay! the threat level is low
Regarding "a big ol' waste of time". Only if we don't move Artest and Bibby. This season has been loads of fun up until the time where we stopped seeing Douby, started seeing 6th man Salmons again and started seeing Cisco getting 6 mins of playing time.

"Artest & the Arabians".....
& if there were fans heckling the players last night for taking too many ill-advised jump shots they should be thanked.Publicly. Why should coach Theus have to go hoarse all by himself?
The only vet playing with passion seemed to be Moore. What makes these players think they can loli-gag thru the game & then just turn it on?What makes them underestimate underated opponents to the point that they think by showing up they're untitled, no, OWED a win in their complacency.
Where was the leadership?Hey, in my line of work it's not enough for me to have energy. If something's lacking on the team, the leader has to inspire his(or her) teammates. Make them want to play hard with you. Make them want to share in your energy & increase it together.Share it with the fans. Feel their energy come back at you & all of the energy in the room growing. That's an incredible feeling.Other than the rookies, that game was sucking the energy off of the floor.Probably sucking it right out of the fans too.An energy vampire.
Far from Comtacstic, last night was Crapstatic. & from no fault of the fans.Quite the opposite.
