We must defend this barn!

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (41-24)  113.9 ORtg (# 3), 110.3 DRtg (#21), 97.1 Poss (# 2)
SACRAMENTO KINGS      (30-36)  108.1 ORtg (#16), 111.3 DRtg (#25), 93.0 Poss (# 8)
BALLHYPE | GOLDEN STATE OF MIND

Unsurprising note: Golden State's offense is statistically better than that of Sacramento.

Key matchup: Chris Webber vs. Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

Real key matchup: Kosta Perovic vs. Shelden Williams.

Likelihood of an MVP chant after a Ron Artest steal-and-dunk: Slim.

Likelihood of a loud contingent of traveling Warriors fans: High.

Likelihood of a serious forest fire in the next week as angry Californians finally get to embrace freedom from the winter season with a nice day out at the lake: Moderate.

Likelihood of one or more 'Beno Drainos': Substantial. Nil.

Likelihood of an Anthony Johnson-assisted suicide: Substantial.

7 o'clock. Go Kings.

We wuz wrong, AJ was rejuvinated
AJ's Hollinger PER=35.9 for the game.  WTF?
Just an amazing game for the Kings, GSW weren't playing soft, just off and the Kings took advantage.

Double double.  According to Hollinger's PER stats the five Kings starters were 5 of the 6 best players in the game. B-diddy was #3.

Wow.

Ah-
The last time AJ started for us the team went 27-55, losing 26 of their last 29 and 18 of their last 19. Good times.

I may need to poke a whole in a piece of cardboard or wear welding goggles when I go to the game tonight, as staring directly at this game might harm my eyesight.

it takes at least some talent to be considered the worst player ever to score 40 or more points in a playoff game.

There is proof of this unbelievable occurrence:

Are you watching this?
Or are you following it online?  I hope you can see this, because this first half has been a heck of a lot more entertaining than I expected based on the late injuries reported today.

Shelden had a couple of exciting moves in his minutes. Splitting a double team with a huge first step and an assist to Martin in a scrum.

So, far I've yelled out loud four times, twice for Shelden and twice for the AJ to Martin connect.

Based on the entertainment level in the first half, I'll hold back on my grumbles.  For now.

If you don't like this...
you don't like offense.  Idiots.  /end Peaches.

I had such low expectations for this game after the injuries to Hawes, Udrih, and Salmons were announced.

Well, Salmons is playing well off of the bench and AJ has been solid so far.  Not many points for AJ but 7 assists so far at half time. Salmons hasn't made much of an impact but he's moving well.

Martin is aggressive, the kids are jumping for rebounds, Ron is tightly wound and could go either way, and Miller's been aggressive, as well.

Honestly, they've made more of a game of it than I expected. Unbelieveably, they have the lead at the half, they are obviously not going for tanking and as a fan, I appreciate it.  Thank  you, Kings.

I felt bad for Section214 for having tickets to this game but the fans are having a good time, it's been pretty freakin' loud during the first half. Now I am jealous instead.  So far, so much fun.

As I said in an earlier post, I'll save my grumbles for later if they don't play this way in the second half.

Now, back to the game!

Iawash, I'm doing my best to earn you some chalupas and I never post during gametime.

For all the complaining we do (especially me) about us not trading Artest, can you imagine being a Nuggets fan?  Your entire future is mortaged around winning with AI and 'Melo, and your team just wasted one of AI's few remaining years because they didnt want to give up a bench player that might develope in to a good player.  I'd be pissed.

See-oh-el-aye cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola
El-oh-el-aye Lola la-la-la-la Lola

Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola
Well I'm not dumb but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola la-la-la-la Lola la-la-la-la Lola

(I'm not saying anything about you KK. Just made me think of it.)

This part of the song better says what I
wanted to say:

Well that's the way that I want it to stay
And I always want it to be that way for my Lola
La-la-la-la Lola
Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for Lola
La-la-la-la Lola
Expressing oneself appropriately is difficult in the modern world. Oui!

Only pookey
I have no words but I'm laughing hard enough to bring tears to my eyes yet I'm bewildered at the same time.

Girls and fine whine
I am no girl, nor do I see other girls posting on this site.

I am, as a friend likes to put it: A woman; good and grown.  You may address me by my screen name or as either a woman or a lady.

If I wanted to put up a bracket, I would have done so already.

Unlike you, boy?  I know my limitations and accept them. I don't post where I have no business posting.  I don't follow college basketball closely enough to feel qualified to enter an NCAA tournament bracket.  I have one team I follow loosely and I don't get to see them often enough to feel qualified to even enter a bracket for their conference.

You earned a lot of good will from users of this site by starting your Yahoo group, don't blow it all in one day by being a dick, again.

If you think you're playing all up on me, or you've gotten under my skin, think again.  I've told you before, you tire me.  You take away from my enjoyment of this site, but the good so far outweighs your B.S. that it's not even funny.

Now, get off my leg.  I hate dogs that hump.

God bless you, Corliss. You always played as though you knew how expensive my tickets were. -section214

Normally putting CC in his place would be
enough for me, and I would enjoy the laughter and move on. However, given that my roommate recently brought an 8 month pit bull puppy into the house, to play with his 2 year old staffordshire terrier (male version of a pit bull) to play, it reminds me of that. The male couldn't stop humping the puppy, even though he had been fixed several days before. All that was on his mind was humping her, even though she wasn't remotely interested. He's now stopped and gone back to being a tad moody when he isn't nipping at her. It kinda reminds me of Coolcat in a way.

LOL at Warriors Fans
What a bunch of losers especially those at GSOM. What a bunch of sore losers.

I love the way they play but the fans much like their pathetic Warriors are substance-less. They'll put points on the board and make things look nice but if they make the playoffs and all of the smoke and mirrors go away, the playoffs will expose the Warriors as an overrated and defenseless bunch like what Utah showed them in the 2nd round.

I can't be a fan of the Supes
because Clay Bennett owns them. I can't be a fan of the Dubs because I loathe Stephen Jackson. I can't be a fan of the Lakers because I despise Jim Buss. I can't be a fan of the Clippers because, well, I despise Donald Sterling (with the sole exception of his taste in women). I can't like any team in Texas because it's in Texas. I hate the Grizzlies because Michael Heisley owns them. I hate the Bulls because I hate wind. I hate the Bucks because I'm firmly opposed to ice. I hate the Knicks because I hate New York. I hate the Nets because Jason Kidd used to play for them. I hate the Celtics because of Tommy Heinsohn. I hate the Heat because Shaq used to play for them (and because Pat Riley "coaches" them). I hate the Magic because it has Disney World. I hate the Hawks because they have an empty arena. I hate the Bobcats because they're jackass owner, owner of BET, forced a Boondocks ep off the air. Anything else coolcat?

The Only This You Missed
You forgot to mention you hate the Kings because they have Geoff Petrie and Ron Artest.

So you can't apparently be a fan of the Kings if they are around. That's fine; we'll hold down the fort for you in the meantime.

I think that about covers it, Pookey.

by coolcatreportdotcom on Mar 20, 2008 8:55 AM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Actually
I don't take anything you say seriously. Then I come up with as much contradictory crap as possible. If that isn't enough I then say more contradictory inflammatory crap just to see how I can stir the pot towards a conversation I want to have. If that doesn't go my way I come up with a bullshit excuse to follow the NCAA's. If that doesn't work.....well I don't know if it will or not. The aftermath of the tourney hasn't come around yet.

I just know you're incapable of having a conversation that includes a thought out logical conclusion backing up actual facts that exist (and not the one's you skewer and twist to make your point).

That's Your Opinion
All of my posts come without the benefit of a couple of six packs, which is probably why you have trouble following them.

We actually have 39 folks who like "the bullshit excuse to follow the NCAAs." Meanwhile, you just keep on ranting, and I'll sometimes respond to the occasional thoughts that are actually coherent.

Sometimes you bring some good stuff to the board. Other times you fall far, far short of that standard. It's too bad and rather pitiful at the same time.

All of my posts come without the benefit of a couple of six packs, which is probably why you have trouble following them.
That's right because you assume everything I say is drunk. (Like this statement, made here & now, when I haven't drank anything today.)

We actually have 39 folks who like "the bullshit excuse to follow the NCAAs." Meanwhile, you just keep on ranting, and I'll sometimes respond to the occasional thoughts that are actually coherent.
No the tourney part's fine. What's annoying is how you've chosen to go about it. Why do I care if you choose what millions of Americans choose to do this time of the year? Go for it big guy!

Sometimes you bring some good stuff to the board. Other times you fall far, far short of that standard. It's too bad and rather pitiful at the same time.
I could say the same of you. In fact I have. Others have as well. I don't expect to be thought of highly or prominently around here. In fact I don't deserve either distinction. But given the crap you shovel out daily neither do you, especially since the same standard you apply to me you haven't applied to yourself (if you judge by this recent statement).

Introducing the Pookey Fund
>>because the jackass factor will never go away<<

I agree - you are a tough guy to shake.

I called you on it a while back, saying if I had a nickel for every cheap shot you tossed my way I could buy a Peaches shirt.

Anyway, no one wants to read this tit-for-tat and I certainly don't want to be a part of it any longer. At the same time, I really don't feel like putting up with your non-stop crapathon.

My solution is to start the Pookey Fund. Every time you throw some BS my way, rather than respond, I'll simply add a post that updates the Pookey Fund, adding a nickle to the pot each time.

Congrats to the Kings
What a big win. I just have one problem, why does Artest say things like this - "It's no surprise, (but) if we win next year and win the next year after that, there won't be tickets for Golden State fans," Artest said. "It's our fault. I totally understand why not as many Kings fans come out." - If we win next year? Is he coming back or not? Also,  props to Anthony Johnson. I admit that I was pleasantly surprised with how he played
