Blargh

If interior defense were bread, Sacramento would starve.

It is abnormally difficult to find Jim Kozimor during a game. A Peaches shirt has been delivered, though. Henry Turner wouldn't touch it, though, which makes me believe the wrath of Peaches is fast and heavy.

Yes Sir
Our interior Defense is Horrible!!!

And although I usually agree with you TZ. I must admit I laughed out loud when you had the gull to say that Miller is the MVP of the Kings this year in a post a few days back!

He is our MAIN problem. We have no presence in the key on EITHER side of the ball!

FYI
I didn't write that post, section214 did. I voted for Martin. I see the merits of Miller though, in such that the offense is rather awful without him... and there isn't a better defensive replacement on the bench.

My
apologies TZ!

I agree that we don't have great defensive players sittin on the pine. Although,I wouldnt mind seeing Sheldon out there for a few mnore minutes for his defensive abilities. Its just dissapointing to me that his offense game has been as limited as it has been. Hopefully this is just his unfamiliarity with Theus' style of offence and he'll be much more accustomed to it next year.

I just wish Justin W had ANYTHING close to a basketball IQ. He had the body/athletic ability to be a solid contributor on the defensive side of the ball, just not the brains

And your MVP would be...
You did not chime with a comment at the time, hoops. Please enlighten me.

Well
If thats the situation.. I will enlighten you...

You call Brad Miller the MVP of the Kings?

First and foremost, he is an absolute joke on Defense. He gets manhandled on a nightly basis in the key by the opposing big man from damn near every team in the league. He cant jump!. He isnt strong enough to play defense on other bigs! His feet are not quick enough to stay in front of other bigs! He is possibly THE SLOWEST JUMPER in the league!

IF his shot is falling then everyone can forget his defensive inabilities, and we all applaud him. (For some reason we applaud the fact that a PERFESSIONAL BBALL player is in shape!...What a martyr!!!)

Now....If his shot IS NOT FALLING...He is USELESS!!.....Let that one soak-in....USELESS!!!

Most bigs who have a decent mid-range game ala Miller (Camby, Yao, Big Z, etc etc) are capable of taking the game down low to get a few easy buckets. Miller is arguably the ONLY BIG in the league who is incabable of getting easy buckets. I seriously feel for Beno (And Bibby before him) for being in such a shitty situation. Thats why I never took Kings PG assist too seriously.

Reardless of how you feel about Artest, the Kings are solid at the 1-3 positions. The 4 & 5 are the Kings problems. To have Miller as the Kings MVP is a joke!

Miller is not the best player,
but for this year he is the MVP, at least by my calculations and the voting feedback here at StR. In my opinion Artest and Martin simply missed too much time to merit serious consideration, and Salmons and Udrih had their minutes fluctuate due to circumstances beyond their control.

That leaves Miller. Overpaid? Yes. A defensive liability? Yes, although not much more than most of the guys on this team. It is worth adding that Miller is the only guy on the team averaging at least 1 block a game and he has over 200 more rebounds than the 2nd best rebounder (Moore).

Now, if we're talking about the future of this team, Brad is not part of the conversation. But I posed the question regarding 2007-08, and the general consensus here was Brad Miller.

I do respect your opinion, though you never did name your candidate. Thanks for the input, though.

People should learn you're the Karen Hughes
of StR. You rarely lose a fight, and you're never afraid to swing. Those who haven't learned this lesson should take note.

Get serious
Now....If his shot IS NOT FALLING...He is USELESS!!.....Let that one soak-in....USELESS!!!

I'll try to be nice here - you don't know WTF you are talking about.

Miller is the best passer and the best screen setter on the team. And at the time the poll was taken, he was the team MVP. Now, 72 games in, I'm not so sure there should be an MVP on this team, considering their recent sorrowful play.

You might be well advised to use a little more  statistical analysis than simply note Miller's lack of post defense. Plus/minus alone tells you that this team has always been better with Miller on the court, whether his defense has been "good" or "bad".

Start here - http://www.82games.com/barzilai2.htm, maybe go here - http://www.82games.com/0708/07SAC16D.HTM

Then continue to tell me how "useless" Brad Miller can be.

My hero
Dude, you're my hero.  Kozimor has nothing to lose by wearing that sucker on the air, or letting someone into the house party wearing it.  AWESOME!

Dude
Jerry Reynolds says he'd wear it on air. THey alked about the Slamson shirts and Jerry wondered out loud if there was a Grant shirt. Peaches said no.
