Success!

From Sam Amick's blog:

Tom Ziller of Sactownroyalty has convinced me to stop using Beno Udrih's nickname of the "Tasmanian Slovenian." He gives many good reasons, but the fact that it's eight syllables is really the clincher.

Next stop: Roseville.

Maybe we should be the one's happy we did not trade for Kleiza.  He can't seem to crack Denver's rotation and has averaged only 18 minutes a game since the all-star break.

Don't fear
We won't use carpet bombs. Highly targeted protests to Jerrylicious's neighborhood.

Unless, wait...

In other news
Jerry Reynolds has agreed to stop using the "Tasmanian Slovenian" nickname too, opting instead for "The Kyrgyzstanian Mozambiquer" and he steadfastly refuses to forgo using The Croatian Crustation nickname for Moore.

I found this quote by Adelman chin stroking
Adelman: "What we're looking for is to see if we can add a fifth big guy. We're really short (down) there. Outside of (Mutombo), we're not very big. We're trying to see if he or anybody can help us up there in case something does happen. We get a chance to get him to work in and find out what he can do. I already saw in one game what he can do. He did it against us (on Feb. 13). He had 12 rebounds in a half. He has the ability to really attack the boards and to be very active defensively. He fronted. He's always moving. You're not going to have the perfect big guy who can do it all or you wouldn't be picking him up right now."
The part that makes me snicker a bit is the last line. Perfect "Players" are drafted 1st overall. Perfect "players" are "not" un-drafted and available for pickup in March. Now back to regularly scheduled programming. (And the pondering if that Justin Williams was let go for Shelden Williams because his offensive peripherals look better than 3wil why not just say so? Justin will get a chance if he wants it. He has NBA level skills. Another reason I'm tired of this franchise at the moment.)

A bad fit
Don't remember where I heard this but one critique of 3-Will said he didn't fit in to Theus's motion offense. He needs to play on team that will let him sit in the low post to fight for rebounds and put backs. He wasn't ever going to get that opportunity in Theus's system. I don't know a whole lot about basketball strategy, so I am throwing this out in hopes some you that do will expound on this position or take it apart as I am looking to make sense of why Petrie'd waive a guy who pulls 10 plus boards down a game when the Kings are again fighting for the title of league's worst rebounding team.

Petrie Made The Right Decision
Waiving Justin Williams was a basketball business decision.  I suspect that it had nothing to do with how Justin had been playing or whether the Kings' organization valued his potential.

The whole scenario involving the four incoming Hawks players in the Bibby trade dictated  that two Kings' players had to be waived prior to im-plementation of the trade with Atlanta. (To create roster space.)

Based strictly on their contracts, Justin Williams and Dahntay Jones were the logical choices to be waived. Petrie made the appropriate decision.
