Ah...
but will you be sporting the StR Peaches T?

Have fun either way.

God bless you, Corliss. You always played as though you knew how expensive my tickets were. -section214

I hate to admit it
but I agree with Peaches about the T on Mutombo. I can see the point of the getting a technical for taunting, but I think there should be an age limit. If you're over 40 (hell, if you're over 30) and can still block as well as anyone, you deserve to finger wag.

Brad's a bonehead
Splitting the viewing tonight -

Another epic Suns / Nuggets game on NBA TV (Nugs won).

Wondering if the Giants are going to score a run this year (15 innings and counting).

So playing without Beno
Artest figures he'll take Beno's shots. And now no Brad so Artest will take his shots too.

Yeah-
If this game stays close he could toss up 30+ shots tonight.

The Rockets glued Battier to Martin in the 3rd. They seem very comfortable with Ron taking the shots.

Miller
has been tossed for half the game and still leads the team in reboumds (7).

Shelden
I thought he played well, particularly on the last sequence with the defense on McGrady. He got a few boards and didn't try to overplay his role.

Reggie bagged on him for being out of shape after the game. I think Reggie needs to give the kid a break, and some time on the floor with the starters.

Most of the time, when our subs get into trouble and play poorly, it's with an all-subs lineup or pretty close. So there's a lack of leadership and it can go downhill quickly. I think that's an area where Reggie could improve and still get the kids some minutes.

Wow
-21 on the boards, and it took us 7:25 to score our 1st field goal of the 4th quarter. We turned it over on our last possession and still won.

Strange game...but fun.

Nice Win
Let's keep winning and hopefully the lotto gods will smile on the Kings and they'll get a top 3 pick.

But if not... well..

Anthony Randolph
DeAndre Jordan
DJ Augustin
Blake Griffin
Kevin Love

all are on the top of my draft wish list.

McGee
The profile says his NBA comparison is Andrew Bynum / Patrick O'Bryant. That sort of covers the entire scale, doesn't it?

Yeah, he's still a bit raw so I guess that's
upside downside? I don't even know who Patrick O'Bryant is, so that's not a good sign. Gotta like the 7-6 wingspan on an athletic frame though.

by Kfan in Korea on Apr 1, 2008 11:09 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

O'Bryant
He's the kid that the Warriors drafted a couple of years ago (somewhere between 7 and 10) and he's been mostly in the "D" league ever since. Jury is still out on him, though the Warriors don't seem to be too excited about him.

And...
He's an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Yeah that's brilliant
Let's sign a kid, who just got his rookie contract shortended, whose lack of intensity, cut by a coach with 1 servicable big on the roster, who isn't getting crap on the Warriors bench.

Hard to complain
It's hard to complain when we beat a good team, and Artest made a bunch of big shots, so I'll refrain from whining about Ron shooting the ball every time he touched it.

Sure am glad to have the chance to say that again; Strange game, but it was a "quality" win...I'll take it!

My draft pick:I want some Love, baby!I can so see him with the Kings with those passes he makes.

Kevin Martin
Starting to become a factor late in games. That's a nice development.

Nice
Thanks for posting this. I especially like the last shot where you could see Battier almost pants him as he went by.

So...
34 wins?
Does that mean I get to see a Beno-Douby-Martin-Shelden-Shawes lineup for like seven straight mintues? cuz that would be awesome.

Wrong Way to Play the Kids
They are going to be more successful if you play only one or two of them at a time with mostly starters -- at least three starters.

So you play the starters and let Shelden come in for Mikki and then Mikki comes back in with Hawes replacing Miller and then Brad comes back in and Douby comes in for Kmart, etc. These guys can be successful when they are better integrated with the starters.

by coolcatreportdotcom on Apr 2, 2008 9:49 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Problem is
One starter is injured and another got tossed, while a third was in foul trouble.

Tough to play the kids with the starters when the starters aren't spending much time on the floor.

I Hear You
Still, somebody starts. Do a better job blending in the newbies with those guys than making them play with themselves.

It's like when you go out to shoot hoops and you find yourself playing with four short fat guys who can't dribble and you're taking on five speed merchants. It is hard to excel in that scenario.

Stick a scrub with four decent to excellent players, and it's a lot easier to blend in and contribute.

Is anybody taking notes here?
Coolcat and I agree on something.

The only problem I see with your argument is the starting part. You have to earn the right to start, and if Theus sees Williams as being out of shape, he won't get a start this season unless there's no other option.

Douby, I'm not sure we keep him anyway. He really doesn't do anything consistently well, terrible ball handling, a shooter, but inconsistent, can't finish at the hoop.

Hawes, not sure you can start him yet, but when he comes back, he needs more minutes so that he loses his "deer caught in the headlights" look when he first comes on the court.

Garcia and Salmons are getting decent minutes, but are you really going to start one of them ahead of Martin and Artest?

What I'd really like to see is Hawes and Miller spending some quality time on the court together. Maybe even bringing Mikki off the bench for the rest of the season. But I don't see how you reasonably start any of the other youngsters.

They Shouldn't Start
>>The only problem I see with your argument is the starting part.<<

You may have misunderstood me. My argument is when to bring them off the bench and how to integrate them properly and effectively for both their development and the team's performance.
