Artest sits courtside near Nuggets bench.

I thought this, which came from the recap of the Lakers-Nuggets game, was interesting:

"(Artest was sitting on the baseline near the Nuggets' bench Sunday. He said he still hasn't decided whether or not to opt out of his contract -- "My agent doesn't want me to," he said -- and not to read anything into his proximity to the Nuggets)."

My agent doesn't want me to???? I'm sure we can all fill in the sentence that follows that..."But I want to!" Gotta love this dude.

Is Beno a top 10 PG?

Now I know some of you guys might have read the title of this diary and flipped out. But have you ever looked at Beno's numbers if you take away the 15 games that Bibby played in? The ranks below are among PGs. And I'll start off with the one that shocked me the most. Beno's minutes (minus Bibby games) are at 37.9 MPG. This is good for #2 in the NBA, right behind Baron Davis. Now for the rest:

15.1 PPG (#8)
5.4  APG (#16)
3.8  RPG (#6)
1.1  SPG (T-14)
2.6  TO  (#24)
2.0  AST/TO (#39)
46% FG   (#9)
39% 3PT FG (#8)
85% FT   (#9)

His assist to turnover ratio could be a lot better. I'll blame that on inexperience. The guy started 6 games in his first 3 years in the NBA. Now he's number 2 in MPG for PGs. So I would like to think (hope) that this will improve over time. Besides the TOs and AST/TO ratio, the dude is pretty nice. I think I would have to put him right at about #10 for PGs in the NBA. So fire away my fellow Royalty. Agreements? Disagreements? I just always wondered what his numbers could theoretically be and it ended up turning into this diary.

Cisco's back?

Literally, did something get knocked loose in Cisco's back? In the 3 games he's played in since he came back from injury, check the numbers:

20 PPG, 1 SPG, 1.3 BPG, 2.7 RPG, 0.3 TO PG, 21-32 FG(66%!), 15-21 3PT FG(71%!) all in 24 MPG! Damn dog. That's on fire...and the yin to garcia's yang award goes to....John Salmons! I'm not even gonna put his numbers up from the last 5 games. It's disgusting.

Chris Anderson anyone?

What do y'all think about Chris Anderson, the 6'10" freak athlete who is currently applying for reinstatement? Remember the white dude who missed hella dunks at the dunk contest a few years back? He's 29, but I'm sure he's also hungry to prove he can still block shots and grab boards. He's a potential problem child, but so what! So were/are Ron Artest, Chris Webber, Keon Clark and Jason Williams! Petrie loves these talented problem childs. And I'm sure we could get him for cheap. I don't think the Hornets will take him back, as they obviously don't need help since they're sitting on top of the conference. I think he would fit right in to this team of castoffs and guys who never got a chance to prove themselves before.

1st place

The Lakers are currently the #1 team in the Western Conference. Wow! When was the last time that happened. And while we're on the subject, I wonder when was the last time the Kings were #1 in the conference. I'm sure the Lakers "reign" at the top will be a one day thing, especially with Kwame Brown being put back into the starting lineup.
