- Bobby Jackson is mentoring Sacramento-area project/Duke Blue Devil DeMarcus Nelson. Nelson is the greatest non-pro basketball player I've ever seen play. His NCAA game hasn't quite hit the level we all expected, but good God can dude ball. And as for Bobby... we all know how extraordinary he is. (Say, you think New Orleans would be interested in a trade? Just kidding. Kind-of.)
- David West is doubtful for the Wednesday opener. Last week, Byron Scott said if West can't go, some combination of Melvin Ely, Ryan Bowen, and Hilton Armstrong will pick up the slack. Can I vote for Bowen? Please?
- Eddie Gill, a 29-year-old journeyman point guard, wants Sacramento to call him.
- Last week, I helped The Basketball Jones preview the Pacific division. Those guys are hilarious. Me? Not so much. I do describe the terror which is Mikki Moore in street clothes, though.
- Also in "me" news, I did a Kings preview for Hoopsblogging. There's a $50 NBA Store gift certificate for the best one. If I win, I'm buying a Mike Bibby #12 jersey. (Actually, if I win, I'll have a decent prize for a StR contest for the first time ever.)
- ESPN's Andy Katz has more on Eric Musselman's college quest. (Thanks to reader John for the tip.)
- Sam Smith says Ron Artest's name is being flitted around in trade rumors. (Via Ballhype.)
- The best commercial parody you'll see this season.
