Ann Barnes, Mother of Matt, Dead at 52

Incredibly sad news for the extended Sactown basketball family -- Ann Barnes, the mother of former King/Del Campo High star and current Warriors Matt Barnes -- has passed away. She was 52.

Matty had alluded to some personal struggles in training camp and in the early part of the season in talking to reporters; Ann had been fighting cancer. I know from following Matty since 1997-8 how strong his family was, and how much his parents meant to him. Our hearts go out to the Barnes family.
