More on Shareef to Chicago

Another Chicago sportswriter is picking up on the Shareef Abdur-Rahim to Chicago idea that was by all accounts started here at Sactown Royalty.

Mike McGraw of the Arlington Heights Daily Herald floats Shareef for Michael Sweetney, Malik Allen, and a draft pick:

On the trade front, the Bulls haven't given up on acquiring Memphis 7-footer Pau Gasol, but a more realistic target might be Sacramento's Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

The 6-9 Abdur-Rahim, 30, used to be a consistent 20-point scorer for the Vancouver Grizzlies early in his career. This year he's averaging 10.1 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Kings, who are barely alive in the Western Conference playoff race and may not mind trimming payroll.

The trade works under the cap, and allows Chicago to either hold onto P.J. Brown or use him in another deal. And remember, the Bulls will switch picks with the Knicks this year, meaning that pick could be a mid-lottery choice.
