Something we missed in all the excitement-dread-excitement-dread-EXCITEMENT!-dread of that wild Washington game last Thursday, from ESPN's John Hollinger via True Hoop...
If you watch the replay, the timer accidentally took 0.1 off the clock right after the free throw, taking it from 0.8 to 0.7 even though the ball was dead -- with an extra 0.1 Salmons' shot probably counts and the game goes to OT.
I went back to view this, and Hollinger is absolutely correct. It's travesty. It's a sham. It's a mockery...
... and it's something I just can't get too worked up about, for some reason. If this were last year, and the Kings were on the brink of the playoffs when every game mattered, I'd be petitioning the league or something lawyerly like that. But I came to peace with the loss quite quickly - I was excited most about the entertaining nature in which the Kings came back. There have been worse snafus in our recent history, so a regular season road game not going to overtime as it should have isn't foremost of my concerns.
Am I a bad fan?
