Two Rumored Training Camp Invites

Just heard from someone very well connected to the NBA prospect scene who passes on word of two guys rumored to be heading to Kings training camp: NBDL project Brandon Robinson and summer league guy Nik Caner-Medley.

Robinson is a 26-year-old forward out of Auburn. He played for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds last season, 11 pts and 6 rebs in 27 minutes. He's really just camp fodder.

Caner-Medley, you'll remember, played for the summer league team. And he can shoot. (And I predicted he'd get a training camp invite based on his shooting.) He played for Maryland (+1) under Gary Williams and played professionally in Germany last season. I'm sure he has a team in waiting in Europe, but really wants his shot at the NBA. But given the roster situation, it doesn't look likely he'll be a Sacramento King.

If these two kids do come to camp, here's what we'll have:

Mike Bibby/Mustafa Shakur/Orien Greene
Kevin Martin/John Salmons/Quincy Douby
Ron Artest/Francisco Garcia/Nik Caner-Medley/Brandon Robinson
Shareef Abdur-Rahim/Mikki Moore/Kenny Thomas
Brad Miller/Justin Williams/Spencer Hawes/Darryl Watkins

That's 17. If memory serves, Geoff Petrie likes to bring 20. But we'll see. Soon. Because training camp starts Monday. !!!
