The first Sacramento King has signed overseas during the (seemingly unending) NBA lockout, as J.J. Hickson has signed with Bnei Hasharon in Israel. Hickson replaces the Washington Wizards' Trevor Booker, who returned the United States with an injury.
Hickson came to Sacramento in a June 30 trade that sent Israeli Omri Casspi to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's expected that Hickson will be a rotation player for the Kings, should the season ever start. He'll be a restricted free agent in 2012. The Kings also gave up a conditional first-round pick in that trade.
SBNation.com contributor Dan Grunfeld played for Bnei Hasharon last season before being signed by Hapoel Holon. Bnei features Lacedarius Dunn and Tweety Carter. The team does not compete in Euroleague.
