The Sacramento Kings announced the hire of Jim Todd as Paul Westphal's fourth assistant coach. According to the Kings' release, Todd coached in China last season and has been an assistant for the Hawks, Bucks, Raptors and Clippers. He led those Clippers for 37 games in 1999-2000 as an interim head coach replacing fired Chris Ford. In those games, L.A. went 4-33.
He is said to specialize in big man development, working with Rik Smits when the Dunkin' Dutchman was in college at Marist. The Kings parted ways with former "big man coach" Truck Robinson in the offseason.
