Kings Trade No. 7 Pick And Beno Udrih To Bucks For No. 10 And John Salmons

New, comments

The Sacramento Kings have traded the No. 7 pick in today's 2011 NBA Draft and Beno Udrih to the Milwaukee Bucks for John Salmons and the No. 10 pick. No, I don't understand it either. Salmons is signed to a deal that guarantees $25 million over the next three seasons. He was once a King! Udrih is due $14 million over the next two seasons, so the Kings are taking on additional salary, an even-or-worse player and moving down in the first round.

The Bobcats actually pick up the No. 7 pick and send Stephen Jackson and Shaun Livingston to Milwaukee. In return, Charlotte takes on Corey Maggette and gives Milwaukee the No. 19 pick.

The Kings would appear to be targeting a point guard with the No. 10 pick. Kemba Walker or Jimmer Fredette would be the options. There's bleak hope this could also be a necessary trade to execute another one, but that seems too optimistic by half.

Yahoo!'s great Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the deal.
