DeMarcus Cousins fires back at O.J. Mayo, explains Rick Carlisle dust-up

The Bee's Jason Jones got DeMarcus Cousins to talk about what happened Monday night in Dallas -- the O.J. Mayo speedbag bit, the dust-up with Rick Carlisle ... everything -- and, as you'd expect, it was not Cousins' fault.

Cousins continues to claim that the shot at Mayo's groin was not intentional. At this point, frankly, it takes some pluck to try to convince people of that. We all saw it, and it looks intentional. Cousins argues that in real-time it looks accidental, but in slo-mo it looks intentional. Whatever. The real meat here is what happened later: Mayo popped off about Cousins' "mental issues." And now, as is his right, Cousins has fired back.

Perhaps Mayo never heard Cousins' explanation, but that didn't stop Mayo from saying Cousins is a "garbage player" when he resorts to such tactics.

"I heard," Cousins said. "This coming from a guy that doesn't have a great image himself. So what does he really mean? I'm fine with it." [...]

After Monday's game, Mayo said Cousins could be a franchise player, "but I don't think he wants it."

"Is he a franchise player?" Cousins said. "So how is he going to tell me what I am?"

Also, Cousins claims that when he was clapping emphatically during a Kings run in the third, Carlisle told Boogie to "eff off." So DMC, of course, retorted with an "eff you." This has eclipsed Cousins vs. Earl Watson Devin Harris as the greatest DeMarcus Cousins feud of all.

I cringe when stuff like this happens. And then I laugh. Because frankly, it's hilarious.
