Kings vs. Blazers: Make them do it on the road

The Blazers are smoking hot. The Kings are ... not. But Portland's had trouble on the road, and the Kings are at home.

Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings failed to beat the L.A. Clippers on Friday in SoCal, and return home to try to improve their record here. Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers finished off a 6-1 homestand Saturday night to move above .500 at 13-12. But Portland is just 4-8 on the road, while Sacramento is 7-7 at home.

Of course, the Kings will almost assuredly be without DeMarcus Cousins, who has been suspended indefinitely for disrespecting Keith Smart on Friday. (Indefinitely could mean "zero games", but it's unlikely.) The Kings will also be without Tyreke Evans, who is still battling a bruised knee.

The only Blazer in question in terms of availability is Wesley Matthews, who has battled a hip pointer injury. He left Saturday's narrow win over Phoenix early, and had missed a couple games. But he's also played well when he has been able to play.

The game's scheduled for 6 p.m. Pacific on Comcast SportsNet California and 1140 AM. Fan predictions soon, game thread at 6, recap following.
